Inauguration of the bust of Richard Strauss

This weekend was officially inaugurated the bust of German composer Richard Strauss (1864-1949), who stayed in our town at the end of his life. Following this event, a special concert was held in the foyer of the Auditorium Stravinski. The Geneva International Orchestra was led on this occasion by the great Swiss conductor Karl Anton Rickenbacher. FESTIVAL OF MEDIA GLOBAL 2013 ACHIEVES GUINNESS WORLD RECORD AT THE 2m2c IN MONTREUX !

The Festival of Media Global has set a new Guinness World Record at this year’s event, currently taking place in Montreux, Switzerland at the 2m2c Convention Centre.
The Festival was awarded the Record for Networking, thanks to C Squared account director James Fleetham’s effort at collecting 400 business cards within 24 hours. The record attempt was officially verified on site by an adjudicator from Guinness World Records, Marco Frigatti, who is the organisation’s head of records.
Achieving the record was no mean feat, as Mr Frigatti had to accompany James for the duration of the 24 hours and verify the number of business cards with a Guinness World Records scanner to ensure no duplicate cards were collected. Anyone who wants to break this record will have to surpass the 400 mark.

A Guiness World Records™ during the Festival of Media at the 2m2c !

You've always wanted to participate to a world record, here's your chance !

In July 2006 already, during the Camlog Biotechnologies Congress at the 2m2c, 539 people have participated to "The largest music lesson" but the record has since then been broken.
More recently, in July 2011, Greg Parmley from England has established the record of "Most festivals visited in 30 days", which included a visit to the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Finally, "The most expensive music entry" was the CD set "Miles Davis at Montreux" which entered the US Top 20 Jazz chart in November 2002, and was priced $250.- US.

The Festival of Media will this time try to establish a brand new record adjudicated by Guinness World Records for "the most visit cards collected in 24h". Therefore, they will need to collect a minimum of 400 cards during the two days of the festival. This attempt will be supervised by Mr Marco Frigatti, head of records at Guinness World Records.
The record attempt will start monday 29th April at 11am and will end tuesday 30st April at 11am.
All the citizens and visitors in the Montreux region are welcome to drop-off their professional visit card at the main entrance of the 2m2c.
